Focus On… Challenges of the past year
The last year was specifically challenging from an M&A perspective. We reshaped the entire group with two major successful M&A transactions (covering in total approximately half of the Group’s revenue base). Alongside this M&A activities, the Group’s investment of over EUR € 100 m into the world’s first carbon-neutral hose production facilities in the Czech Republic kept us busy. All this was next to our already challenged workload of servicing our business in the transition out of the Covid/Supply Chain-crisis into booming growth and back into inflation driven cooldown of the markets. We evidenced our high service level, agility and flexibility to follow our stakeholders’ needs and expectations. The legal team has shown a very high level of cooperation by best knowledge sharing within the team, building on each other’s strengths and supporting the weak spots of other team members. We made a transition from a ‘watchdog-headquarter’ function to regarded service providers for the business. Furthermore, we contribute to advancing the digital transformation of our Group. Last year, for example, we took major steps toward introducing a new contract database and we are supporting our stakeholders in implementing digitalisation projects in their areas.
