Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
In a large group structure, you need to come up with innovative ideas all the time to continually improve the processes within the company and different departments.
With this in mind, we re-organised the structure of entities across the EU and worldwide in order to create more visibility across the corporate landscape, optimise revenue and minimalise costs. This included creating sets of templates for various business cases, which are easy to comprehend, enabling easier cooperation with our partners.
Furthermore, we implemented a thorough onboarding process for new joiners to give them a better perspective on the company and its products, and not only have knowledge on a ‘need to know basis’, but also insight into different departments and concepts.
Lately, we started our ‘Project Yellow’ – it comprises a cooperation within the in-house lawyers of the Paysafe group worldwide and with other departments and external counsel in order to identify and mitigate inefficiencies in our corporate documents, contract templates and contractual onboarding processes with our partners as well as unifying those documents due to an internal merger of business units, creating documents that reflect the highest standards, considering and prioritising business needs.
Apart from legal matters, has the team worked on other company initiatives?
Paysafe has a strong culture for diversity and fosters inclusion. Our team reflects a variety of nationalities (Austrian, American, British, Bulgarian, German, Polish, Portuguese and Ukrainian), religious and juridical backgrounds (our team members have studied and researched in universities and research institutions in Austria, Poland, France, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, the UK and the US). Moreover, team members are actively involved in the organisation’s landscape, for example, by way of participating in the corporate responsibility committee.
We are always taking the chance to participate and conceptualise Paysafe’s activities, such as ‘collect trash’, ‘black history month’, ‘Paysafe family’ and discussions on women’s day. Our team members are also actively involved in various organisations such as Juristenverband in Austria and Association ‘Legal Corner’ in Poland outside of working hours.
Can you sum up the team culture/ethos in one sentence?
Keep the good times going so you can draw from them in challenging times.
In our team, a variety of different views and opinions are not only represented but also appreciated and fostered. We are ready to work long hours, but also to support each other privately and professionally. We are taking part in each other’s life and celebrate and respect each other, are aware of our strengths and weaknesses both as individuals and as a group, which allows us to always find the best approach for the task at hand. We are not afraid to discuss and challenge each other.
