LBC Tank Terminals Group, headquartered in Belgium, is an independent operator of midstream and downstream bulk liquid storage facilities for chemicals, oils and refined petroleum products. It owns and operate a network of terminals with a combined storage in excess of 2.3 million cubic meters, with a global footprint of facilities in Europe, Asia and America serving over 300 blue chip customers. Ilse De Loof was appointed group general counsel in 2011 at a time when the company headquarters transferred from France to Belgium. De Loof began her career in 1994 as a litigator in a private practice in Brussels and held that position until 1999. She then joined American multinational engineering and construction firm Jacobs Engineering as regional counsel for Belgium and Asia. She was tasked with creating a legal organisation for business support in the geography, as well as risk management, governance and compliance support for the Belgian and Asian regions. Spending 12 years with Jacobs, she was perfectly positioned to create and manage the global legal, risk and compliance function for LBC Tank Terminals. During the last eight years she has created and managed the legal department and amassed a successful track record of managing complex international corporate transactions such as multi-party international joint ventures and negotiations including restructuring and financing programs. Ilse De Loof is a member of the executive committee and secretary to the board of directors, making legal a full business partner at LBC Tank Terminals.
