Philip Eyskens has amassed a lengthy career with Belgian-based steel wire transformation and coating business, Bekaert, a company that employs almost 30,000 staff worldwide and operates in 120 countries. Joining Bekaert in 1995 in the capacity of group legal counsel, over the years Eyskens has assumed various roles in international locations across the multinational company’s branches. For a number of years Eyskens was located in Asia where at one point he served as the deputy general counsel, regional counsel Asia, M&A manager China, based in Shanghai and holding responsibility for establishing and leading a regional legal team to provide legal support to the Bekaert operations in Asia. He then went on to assuming the role of group M&A officer Asia, general manager Hong Kong for Bekaert in 2010 and in 2013 he was promoted to vice president M&A, general manager Hong Kong where he supported the company in the preparation, management, negotiation and integration of M&A transactions globally. In January 2015 he returned to the Belgium-based Bekaert Group where he served as secretary to the Bekaert group executive committee. Today Eyskens is a core part of the executive team and global function domains where he serves as senior vice president, legal, IT, M&A; group general counsel, leading the legal, IT and M&A function to deal with daily activities of the Bekaert Group, as well as focusing on integral value growth and higher-level performance – elements that are at the core the company’s ethos.
