With extensive experience providing legal support and advice in Europe, including Russia and CIS countries, Serge Debrye has gained a reputation for being a business orientated and result driven team leader. He serves as the current general counsel for Luxembourg based media company, M7 Group, a provider of satellite TV services under the brands CanalDigitaal, TV VLAANDEREN, TéléSAT, AustriaSat AND Skylink to several million viewers, who use a small satellite dish to receive hundreds of digital national and international TV and radio channels. His responsibilities include advising and counselling on legal, policy and business issues, managing and assisting with negotiations and drafting a wide variety of complex commercial contracts. The nature of the role he operates in also requires him to participate in discussions with governmental and non-governmental bodies in regards to regulating the media sector, as well as anticipating and guarding against legal risks facing the company. This entails training various business departments in these areas and ensuring compliance and appropriate risk assessment on a day-to-day basis.
