What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?

The most important change is the technological development of the way we work, which affects every minute of your professional life. This was certainly accelerated during the Covid-19 period. These technological changes affect the way people think about their work and their employer, as it’s difficult to hold the same regard for your boss or your coworker when you are talking to a screen.

Do you have an example of a time when you have come up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works that did not result in a large expense?

The most important innovation we recently introduced is our Legal Ops function. This has substantially increased the efficiency of certain routine legal tasks that our staff have to perform.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

Undoubtedly, you have to be flexible and resilient in order to be a successful in-house lawyer. Obviously, you need to know the law, but it’s important to know how to work under inflexible and demanding rules in the professional environment without losing your mental health.
