What are the most significant cases and transactions you have been involved in recently?

My organisation is carrying out a process of digital transformation and evolution under strategic pillars that include sustainability, financial inclusion, and upon an equity perspective of our clients. In this context, the legal team must provide dynamic and agile and strong, legal advice. Recently, we are advising on very important contracts for the start of projects that will implement the objectives defined under the aforementioned pillars.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

BancoSol as a financial entity is subject to regulatory standards that must be strictly complied with, my concern is focused on keeping the team informed and trained to provide solid legal advice to our internal clients.

What are the main qualities you need to be successful as an in-house lawyer, as opposed to a private practice one?

The main qualities of an in-house lawyer are to develop a leadership that motivates the team in the fulfillment of its activities. I am focused on building a generation of leaders in my legal team with initiative and commitment to continuous improvement in agile, timely and empathic legal advice to internal clients, which will guarantee legal security in the bank’s operations.

What will the main focus of your company be over the next few months and how do you intend to assist with this?

As mentioned, my organisation is promoting an important process of digital transformation that requires a changing of employees’ mindset in order to achieve the strategic objectives of our bank, which is a leader in the Bolivian market. The legal team must be at the level of these demands, responding quickly to the requirements and sending a solid message of agility and at the same time of legal certainty, which must minimise risks and allow the growth of the organisation under the mission of sustainability and of financial inclusion as essential goals.
