Carlos R. Soruco Deiters has nearly 20 years of professional experience in law. He began his career as a lawyer for European Union development projects before pursuing an LLM in International Economic and Business Law at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. He also specialised in IT Law at Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany, and completed additional specialisations in Bolivia, Argentina, and the Netherlands.

He served as a senior lawyer at Bufete Soruco y Asociados before assuming the role of legal director, where he focused on commercial, civil, and computer law.

Soruco, co-founder of Quantum Motors, the first electric vehicle factory in Latin America, is responsible for all legal matters, ranging from its establishment to intellectual property and tax issues. He also advocated for the implementation of legislation related to electromobility in Bolivia. Furthermore, he led the expansion of the company by establishing sister companies in Peru, Paraguay, El Salvador, and Mexico, as well as vertically integrating companies related to the Lithium industry. Through strategic planning, he organised the corporate group under a US-based holding structure.

In addition to his legal career, Soruco has held positions on the boards of directors in financial, cultural, and educational institutions. He actively participated in the defence of urban cyclists’ rights, striving for a more humane and sustainable society. He is also a university lecturer at master’s level in the field of IT Law and is a partner in an energy transition consultancy company.

Carlos is a husband and proud father of two daughters, with whom he enjoys quality time. These aspects are important to him in striking a balance between his professional and personal life.
