Since November 2022, Marcelo Hassenteufel Loayza has been in charge of the corporate affairs department of Nuevatel PCS de Bolivia (VIVA), which supervises the areas i) regulatory, ii) legal, iii) permit management and iv) wholesale of VIVA. In his current functions, he leads the company’s strategies in external, legal and regulatory compliance matters concerning regulators and the processing of municipal and environmental permits; likewise, he supervises the connectivity business and the sales strategy of the company’s international services.

He has been VIVA’s external consultant, and for more than ten years, he has been part of the company’s internal staff, part of the legal management and has served as legal manager for several years. He has also volunteered on the board of directors of the “Estás Vivo” Foundation, which carries out VIVA’s Social Responsibility tasks.

He has provided services in the Bolivian public sector, the regulatory entity of the electricity sector, the telecommunications regulatory entity and the Bolivian public (state) television and Partner of the law firm Hassenteufel & Asociados.

For several years he has been professor of Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedures at the La Salle University of La Paz-Bolivia; he has taught classes at the undergraduate level in other careers and universities, has been a postgraduate teacher in different versions of Masters in Economic Law – Regulatory at the Simón Bolívar Andean University, La Paz Headquarters (Telecommunications Regulation Module), as well as in courses designed for personal of the Bolivian telecommunications regulator.
