What measures has your company taken to incorporate sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of general counsel contribute to promoting and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
Itacamba Cemento has managed to adapt our partners’ business strategies to set goals based on 7 strategic pillars, generating a detailed action plan that demonstrates our firm commitment to sustainability.
The company leaves a positive legacy in our environment, controlling and mitigating our impacts, caring for biodiversity, and working on innovative solutions in our country, such as the partial replacement of fossil fuels with waste, which allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and valorise the waste generated in our production. Our social responsibility program generates a positive impact, executing more than 100 projects that improve the quality of life for over 40,000 people.
From the legal department, we provide timely regulatory advice for the execution of these new projects, manage the required permits and licenses, and finalise the various contracts and agreements to make our commitment to sustainability possible.
Ariane Augsten Roldán, graduated from the Private University of Santa Cru de la Sierra (UPSA), with a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the NUR University, and a Master’s in Business Law from the University of Valencia (Spain).
I am part of the legal department of one of the most prestigious companies in the cement industry in Bolivia, Itacamba Cemento, providing legal advice on corporate legal aspects. I have participated in projects such as the formation of companies, capital increases and reductions, liquidations and closures, mergers and acquisitions, and legal support to our subsidiary companies regarding proper corporate governance. In the corporate field, I have a solid background that has enabled me to understand each challenge to provide legal protection.
In the area of compliance, I participate in the drafting and implementation of compliance policies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, especially those related to the prevention of corruption, money laundering, and competition defence.
