How do you manage legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis, and how do you align your legal strategy with the overall business strategy to ensure organisational resilience?

During periods of instability or crisis, our legal management and strategy are approached with flexibility in certain formalities, without compromising our mission to safeguard the legality of the legal acts in which the organisation is involved. In this way, we align with the business strategy to achieve productivity, efficiency, and process optimisation, while avoiding potential legal contingencies during these challenging periods.

What steps has your company taken to incorporate sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of General Counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?

Our organisation’s business operations incorporate a range of sustainable practices linked to strategic planning across the entire supply chain and meeting market demand, both locally and for export, based on that planning. Our role contributes through preventive advice at every stage, encouraging process standardisation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to promote a more inclusive and equitable working environment?

Our legal department comprises a diverse group of professionals, reflecting gender, age, and regional balance, enriching the diversity of legal perspectives within the team and allowing us to maintain a solid and reliable line of legal reasoning.

Could you discuss a particularly challenging dispute or M&A scenario you have faced and the innovative strategies you employed to address it?

This year, we faced a significant challenge in negotiating with the country’s dairy producers for agreements on sourcing the most critical raw material for our organisation. The strategies implemented focused on anticipating the real needs of the producers in the current context and proposing to finance part of those needs rather than increasing the purchase price as they initially sought. This approach secured the sustainability of raw material supply and strengthened loyalty with our key strategic partners.

In your opinion, what are the main trends currently relevant in your country (whether legal, political, economic, or business-related)?

Considering the political, social, and economic context in Bolivia, I believe it is most important to focus efforts and expectations on business and legal trends to positively impact the country’s economy and, consequently, influence government policies.
