How do you manage legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis, and how does your legal strategy align with the overall business strategy to ensure organisational resilience? 

I try to remain calm and stick to the established action plan and timeline for executing tasks, activities, and issues. If a crisis or instability arises due to external factors, it is necessary to reformulate the action plan, adjusting to the priorities of the moment and attempting to anticipate and address some actions in response to the current circumstances. My legal strategy focuses on corporate and local guidelines, providing alternatives if strategic objectives cannot be met as planned. This approach helps us adapt to the situation or circumstances and seek compliance alternatives. 

What measures has your company taken to incorporate sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to promoting and ensuring sustainable practices within the company? 

We focus on optimising human and economic resources to enhance processes and drive continuous improvement using Lean methodology. 

The role of the general counsel is to analyse the measures discussed for implementation, weighing the pros and cons, and managing risks to mitigate them if they arise. 

What emerging technologies do you believe will have the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments? 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significant due to its practicality in automating the discovery and recording of various legal issues. 

I stay updated by participating in conferences, seminars, and other events on AI implementations and advancements. 

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment? 

I promote communication, empathy, teamwork, trust, respect, and focus on both internal and external clients. 

I have implemented 10-minute daily huddles at the start of the day to check in with the team, understand their achievements, discuss any difficulties they face in meeting their tasks or objectives, and collaborate effectively to support each other.
