Since 2017, Aline de Almada Messias has served as director of legal and compliance at Hospital Sírio Libanês, a hospital founded by Syrian and Lebanese immigrants to Brazil in 1921 which has become a major institution for treatment and research across São Paulo and other locations in Brazil. With a 20-year legal career in the technology sector at tech giants such as Google, Samsung, Sony and TAM, Messias has taken on a new challenge in her shift to the healthcare sector. Messias has overseen new developments and projects as the company continues to grow. Earlier this year the hospital announced a new initiative to adhere to international standards for patient care monitoring according to the International Consortium for Measuring Health Outcomes (ICHOM), making it the first Brazilian hospital network to do so. This was a major achievement for Messias and her legal and compliance team.
