Since 2011, Cinthia Ambrogi has served as general counsel Brazil at Sanofi, a large global life sciences and pharmaceuticals company. She has over a decade’s experience in high level in-house legal management positions in the health, energy and banking industries and is adept at building high performance teams, developing people in-house and retaining talent in the market. In her current team, the most senior members have been at the company for an average of five years. Ambrogi has also implemented internal processes by implementing technology including an e-LAW system, electronic signature and contract management software among others. She has also developed external counsel retention systems as well as what she calls a ‘modernisation in the legal mind-set,’ or an openness to do things differently. Ambrogi is involved in all of the company’s major litigations and transactions in Brazil including a swap transaction between Sanofi and Boehringer Ingelheim. She has also reduced the number of labour disputes and increased their favourable outcomes, as well as implemented successful strategies in big litigations involving sanitary laws, IP rights, investigations and anti-trust matters. Ambrogi also represents the company institutionally in different areas. She is a board member at the National Council of Marketing & Advertising; the chair of the American Chamber Strategic Legal Committee for Legal Vice-Presidents; a board member at Women in Leadership in Latin America representing the empowerment of women and the diversity cause; and plays an active role in influencing the formulation of positions and defences for the benefit of the entire sector at Interfarma, Sindusfarma. On top of that, she has spoken at international events such as IBA in Life Sciences in Boston 2018 and the Legal Academy of Sanofi in the US.
