With almost 20 years of executive in-house and private practice experience, Joao Vicente Camarota continues to impress as managing director and head of legal South America at Morgan Stanley. Camarota began his legal career at MattosFilho, a top tier Brazilian law firm with expertise in capital markets and corporate law. He then moved to Shearman & Sterling in New York before returning to Brazil as an executive director at Morgan Stanley. Continuing to lead legal operations across the region Camarota has demonstrated his business and legal expertise in the legal management of some of the financial giant’s largest deals, including the major M&A deal with the US$21bn corporate reorganisation of Vale, the top global producer of Iron ore with Bano Bradesco, and the ongoing investment activity by Morgan Stanley in the fintech sector in Brazil.
