Lucas Quevedo brought his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to Rio Energy in May 2017 after stints at other major international oil producers, namely Total, OBX and EBX. A specialist in oil and gas related commercial, regulatory and environmental law, Quevedo leads the legal affairs with adept skill and particular care on the impact of the company’s operations on the environment and community neighbours. Rio Energy is committed to sustainable energy, and is an entirely green energy operation specialised in wind energy. It operates two complexes in the Northeast of Brazil, Eólicas Caetité in Bahia, and Eólicas Itarema in Ceará, one wind complex under construction Eólicas Serra da Babilônia as well as a 2GW portfolio of greenfield projects. It was founded in 2012 and is funded by Denham Capital, an American environmental private equity firm with a global reach and sustainable energy focus.
