Márcio Bonfiglioli has served as managing director and head of the legal department at J.P. Morgan Brazil since 2006, having re-joined the company after serving as associate general counsel from 1992-2001, and spending time as associate general counsel at Bank of America and general counsel at Citi. During his in-house career he has developed extensive experience and skills in the structuring and management of legal and compliance departments. He is an expert in civil and commercial law, contracts, M&A and structuring of legal entities. In his current role he manages the entire legal operations in Brazil, and has until recently covered compliance as well. He also represents the company within the J.P. Morgan global organisation and with regulators. J.P. Morgan has served financial markets in Brazil for 120 years, 60 of which with local offices. Its powerful status in international markets and emerging markets demonstrate its significance in Brazil.
