What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
The incorporation of a company from the group is helping our legal department to better understand all the company’s businesses and is making the company review several interesting aspects of its operations. We are currently reviewing all processes of the company, which involves a significant effort from everyone within our legal team.
How important is choosing to work with external lawyers who align with your company’s values?
In my opinion, it is mandatory to choose an external lawyer who aligns with our company’s values. Sharing the same principles and values is essential to have the firm giving, not only the right support from a legal standpoint to our team, but the right support to the all company, regardless of department.
As we live in a fast-paced world today, what skills will a corporate legal team need to succeed in the modern in-house industry?
The team needs to identify, as fast as possible, what type of support to provide to its internal clients and business partners and assess how critical and relevant each issue really is, to better contribute for the benefit of the company.
How do you suggest in-house lawyers build strong relationships with business partners?
From my experience, I think it is important to help the internal client daily, offering counselling and guidance when dealing with both simple and complex situations. Being available to provide your expertise is fundamental to develop a strong relationship with your business partners.
