The last few years have been quite challenging. Legal teams face complex challenges, especially in technology companies. In an environment where innovation is constant and legal barriers are complex, teams play a crucial role in sustaining and growing businesses. Challenges such as ensuring compliance with ever-changing regulations, protecting intellectual property, maintaining data security and privacy, managing contracts, and resolving disputes. Furthermore, ensuring ethical and social responsibility practices are fundamental to the sustainable growth of the business.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

Working in technology companies requires qualities such as agility, expertise and collaboration. It is essential to adapt quickly to changes and innovations, given the dynamic and constantly evolving nature. Be proactive in identifying and mitigating legal risks, along with communication skills working in partnership with business areas.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

Having strong, close and trusting relationships with business partners is essential. This relationship is built daily, maintaining connections, understanding the partner’s urgency, difficulties and problems, and helping them find solutions.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

Being passionate about my family is one of the essential pillars of my life. As a woman who is passionate about my family and my work, finding the balance between these two dimensions of life is a journey that requires skill and commitment. My family is my haven, my source of unconditional love and support. At the same time, my career is an essential part of my identity, providing challenge, fulfillment and personal growth.

To balance these two passions, you need to establish clear priorities and manage your time wisely. This involves dedicating quality time to your family, even in the face of work demands, and setting aside precious moments to share experiences and strengthen family ties.

Furthermore, it is essential to set healthy boundaries between work and personal life, learning to disconnect from work when I am with my family and vice versa. Open and honest communication with colleagues also plays a key role in ensuring everyone understands my responsibilities and needs.
