What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

AES Brasil’s legal team has been involved in a wide range of transactions, from high complexity agreements such as turbine purchase and installation, and share purchase agreements, to high-profile arbitrations. We have developed a multi-task highly trained team capable of undertaking in-house the majority of legal issues associated with a fast-growing renewables company such as AES Brasil.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

You must be eager to learn, always adapting to the changes in our industry, and be able to understand and apply our business concepts when providing legal advice.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

Always. Our mantra is to be an accessory line, if not the main character itself, in our company’s business. AES Legal is here to provide business legal services.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

All our causes deserve a special degree of attention, but facilitating and being a part of the clean energy transition is particularly significant.
