What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
The team delivered fantastic results in 2023. This included more than 40 negotiations and contract signings with multinational companies in the fields of warehousing, transport, e-commerce, and packing, among others, involving significant investments and operational and legal complexity.
Additionally, the team managed purchase and sale agreements and automation contracts with innovative and complex technical descriptions. They also handled litigation with significant cases, achieving excellent results in the labour, civil, and tax spheres. Another highlight was an extremely technical corporate incorporation process, with several work fronts requiring a great deal of business knowledge to support the connection of more than ten different areas.
What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?
I believe that knowledge of, proximity to, and assertive communication with the business are undoubtedly fundamental qualities for a corporate legal team.
How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?
By being close to operations, conducting on-site visits within our operational structures, and promoting workshops to understand exactly what the business needs, the legal team can then promote the solutions that best suit the business.
Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?
I provide leadership training on tools to become 21st-century managers. This activity allows me to exchange experiences and participate in the training of our operational leadership and other functional areas. Additionally, I highlight the ESG-related diversity agenda. Currently, I am a sponsor of the gender pillar, supporting the development of initiatives to promote more diverse leadership in order to seek different solutions, contributing to a more innovative, creative, and profitable business.
