What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

In addition to regulatory and corporate issues, our legal team has carefully prioritised what directly impacts our employees, recognising that ZAMP’s success and our growth journey is deeply rooted in caring for our people, more than 16000 employees and distributed across all states in the national territory. Recently, we had further reinforced cases involving workplace safety and mental health issues, with our department taking the lead, ensuring that our employees feel protected and cared for. By prioritising these cases, we not only demonstrate our commitment to the well-being and careers of our people, but we also mitigate risks and reduce the company’s exposure to labor contingencies. We firmly believe that taking care of people is not only an ethical path, but also strategic for the long-term success of our company.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

To be successful as an in-house lawyer in our sector, it is crucial to work in synchronisation with all areas of the Company. This not only guarantees unity in the information exchanged, but also keeps the concepts of brand and compliance aligned, essential elements for the company’s reputation and integrity. Furthermore, being constantly updated is essential to guarantee the best quality of analysis and contribute to more assertive decisions.

Our proactive approach starts from the beginning of internal processes, covering their execution and subsequent evaluation. The legal team plays a crucial preventative role in all ZAMP matters, working diligently to anticipate and mitigate potential legal challenges. In addition to technical skills, such as legal mastery and interpretation of regulations, qualities such as effective communication, sharp analytical skills, quick decision-making capacity and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are essential to face the dynamic challenges of our sector. Incorporating specific examples or past experiences that demonstrate these qualities further strengthens our approach and contributes to the continued success of our legal team.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

To foster closer collaboration between the legal department and our business colleagues, we take a proactive, results-oriented approach. We recognise that one of the fundamental skills for the success of the legal team is to constantly stay up to date with new regulatory standards and legal requirements that impact on our operations. Furthermore, we prioritise agility in meeting demands, ensuring that there are no delays in the internal management of flows.

Our legal team plays an active and strategic role in all areas of the company, acting as consultants and identifying delicate issues that may affect our business. We cultivate a culture of innovative thinking and acting outside the box, allowing us to approach complex challenges with creativity and effectiveness.

By aligning the legal department with organisational strategies and providing reliable and secure support for internal processes, we are ensuring that the Company can successfully navigate the ever-changing regulatory environment and achieve our objectives with confidence and security.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

Yes, my cause is directly related to how we play a crucial role in balancing responsibility and boldness, a fundamental characteristic of ZAMP. We are constantly evaluating and considering all the risks of our choices to ensure positive results in our communications, always prioritising care for people.

Even after launching initiatives, our work doesn’t stop. We remain aligned, closely monitoring the results to understand the perception of consumers and customers, as well as the impact of our actions. Our commitment to caring for people is reflected in our participation from the beginning of the creative process, where we collaborate in evaluating pieces and texts to anticipate sensitive themes, measure threats and ensure the appropriate use of terms, words and actions that connect our entire impact.

The main objective is to ensure that all our communications and practices are transparent, ethical, safe and effective, reflecting ZAMP’s values, purpose and dream.
