What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

In-house lawyers should be problem solvers and try to think outside the box to find the best alternatives for the company while working alongside other departments involved, and with external counsel when needed. Interaction with internal clients to better understand their exact demands is also key. AI will have a huge impact within the legal departments in the coming years, and internal counsel must be prepared to drive the use of legal AI internally.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

I have fostered closer collaboration through constant interactions and regular meetings to follow what is going on and establish future plans. This is in addition to regular e-mails and other forms of communication.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

I am passionate about all the different legal challenges that arise within a company or corporation as it keeps us constantly involved in different subjects and new matters.
