What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

The legal team has been evolved in several significant cases including litigation of all sorts, capital market transactions and strategic agreement negotiations.

What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?

Successful in-house lawyer should understand how the business works and how a decision can affect the company’s short and long terms competitiveness and finances. Since the car rental industry faces new challenges and competitors very often, the in-house counsel should offer legal solutions that tackle these challenges and shape the legal environment as needed. In-house lawyers only will be able to work in this way if they are ready to learn and collaborate with others.

How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?

General counsel and corporate legal teams must thoroughly understand the company, encompassing its business operations, culture, values, and strategic objectives. With that in mind, the legal department should proactively suggest new initiatives that are aligned the with company’ strategy, adding value to the business. They should also use its privilege capacity to identify potential risks to propose business solution that minimise or mitigate such risks.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

My vision is a world where people of all genders and races have the same career possibilities. To support this, I have been advocating for more women in leadership roles, as I think this will improve the outcomes for individuals, organisations, and society. I have participated in various NGOs, groups, forums, mentoring, and diversity programs to advance this aim.

I also value trust and ethics as the foundation of all interactions, whether they are professional, personal or public. This will lead to social and economic growth that will benefit everyone. I am fortunate to work in a company that shares this value and applies it to every relationship it has.
