The in-house legal department of Nestlé Canada is led by senior vice president, general counsel and secretary Daniel Holden, and it is responsible for the management of the Canadian legal affairs of the food and drink multinational as well as liaising with other Nestlé legal teams globally. The team supervises the legal affairs of all of Nestlé’s brands in Canada including: Nestlé Canada, Nestlé Professional, Nestlé Nutrition, Nestlé Health Science, Nestlé Waters, Nestlé Purina PetCare and Nespresso. Thanks to this wide remit of support, the team handles affairs across a variety of practice areas such as commercial transactions, real estate, IP, litigation, privacy, M&A, employment as well as safety and environmental regulation and corporate legal business. In the last year, Nestlé and Starbucks have announced a deal allowing Nestlé to market Starbucks consumer packaged goods and food service products globally continuing their partnership. Additionally, Nestlé announced plans to invest C$51.5m, in the expansion of its London, Ontario ice cream factory on Wilton Grove Road which produces all of the
Häagen-Dazs, Parlour and Drumstick products in the Canadian market.
