Novacap is a leading Canadian private equity fund with over C$2.25bn of assets under management and more than 25 investment platforms. In the last three years alone, the company’s legal team has assisted Novacap in closing acquisitions including reinvestments and divestitures for an aggregate consideration in excess of C$5bn. Bruno-Étienne Duguay has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer in the business community and since 2008 has acted as chief legal officer for Novacap, leading the company’s three lawyer in-house legal team. In 2015 and 2017, two of Novacap’s transactions, involving Stingray Digital and Chemical Computing Group, won the “Deal of the Year” award in the private equity category of the Canadian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA).
