Rogers also has a sizable media portfolio and an important presence in the Canadian sports industry as the owner of baseball franchise The Toronto Blue Jays and Sportsnet, Canada’s number one sports media brand, as well as other media television networks with exclusive coverage of NHL. For example, in October, Rogers Communications announced its plans to launch an LTE CAT M1 network to be used by internet of things devices making them more accessible for users in remote areas.
