What are the most significant cases or transactions you and your team have been involved in?

Kimberly-Clark puts the health and safety of employees and consumers as its top priority. The company implemented a series of initiatives to promote the well-being of employees during the pandemic. Since the early spread of Covid-19, our work has been focused on ensuring the correct functioning of our operations, committing to providing essential hygiene products to our consumers and clients. We had to monitor constant legislative changes in each market we operate. We ensured that our employees remained healthy, establishing our security protocols in compliance with local legislation, and going above and beyond to meet the global health standards of safety. Even though Covid-19 restrictions have been fully lifted in many countries, we remain cautious about potential challenges throughout 2022.

What do you think are the biggest risks facing your industry now and how are you preparing your team and organization to deal with them?

Kimberly-Clark has adapted to new demands of customers and new business environments to stand out among the leading consumer companies in the region. We are aware that we will still face disruptions because of Covid-19 that will drive ongoing volatility in the supply chain, such as inflation, shortage of labour, and legal changes related to safety protocols. We are prepared with a robust plan to take decisive action to mitigate those risks and keep all our operations going, guaranteeing the accessibility of our products to billions of consumers globally. Given the relaxation of Covid-measure, we are engaged in several activities as a team — we are working to develop a global pro-bono programme to provide valuable help to society. We believe that we can achieve remarkable results when we work together.

Even in the best-case scenario, COVID is likely to have far-reaching ramifications. How are you safeguarding the long-term health of the business?

People are the priority of our company; we made available a series of tools for stress management and mental health care to offer support during challenging times. Our purpose is “better care for a better world” and it starts at home with our employees and their families. Kimberly-Clark has focused on innovation to guarantee long-term sustainability. We built a model that encourages collaborative work between people and the organisation to increase the company’s competitiveness and differentiation in the market. We encourage those who have innovative ideas to share. Our legal department constantly supports internal processes, intellectual property, and legal risks mitigation. We are committed to understanding the development of the market and seeking new business opportunities. In 2022 we took a significant position in THINKX, the market leader in reusable period underwear and bladder leakage. On our 150th anniversary, we seek to strengthen our commitment to improving the communities we work and live in.
