What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?
I think one of the biggest challenges has been keeping up with increasing demand from our internal clients and the added complexity arising from an always evolving business model and product development process. These challenges have particularly affected the airline industry and their associated loyalty programs, as they are still slowly recovering from the pandemic and other global economic factors.
In which ways have you attempted to bring the legal department closer to your business colleagues?
In our department we strive to get as engaged as we can with our internal clients and their projects. Understanding their needs, concerns, and goals with a particular project ultimately returns the best results for the company. We try not to see these issues as something that only concerns the business department, but something that is important for the collective goals of the company. To that end, we are heavily involved in the product development process, contract negotiations, and project follow-up to provide a well-rounded service for our internal clients.
