About

Julio Arjona is general counsel for Citibank, Panama Branch. He has worked with the bank for 20 years; starting out as legal counsel in the legal department. During his tenure, he has also served as regional advisor for Citi Latin America, legal department offices in Miami, Florida. Before joining Citibank, Mr. Arjona worked in the Superintendency of Banks of Panama as legal counsel, where he was involved in the drafting of new regulations, participated as a speaker at international conferences and managed regional projects with banks and other financial regulatory agencies in the region.  

Mr. Arjona received his law degree from the Universidad Santa Maria la Antigua in Panama in 2000 and earned his Master of Banking and Finance International Law from Boston University, Massachusetts in 2001 (LLM). He also studied International Business at Harvard University.  

Mr. Arjona is an active member of the Legal Committee of the Banking Association of Panama since 2004 and is directly involved in volunteering programmes.
