Lucía has over 10 years of experience, specialising in corporate law, contract drafting and negotiation, M&A transactions, real estate and aviation industry. Lucía is authorised to practice law in both Spain and El Salvador and is also authorised to exercise as a public notary in El Salvador.

In her current role as legal and contracts manager at MRO Holdings, Lucía has been involved in the group’s large M&A transactions, corporate restructuring transactions, as well as large transnational refinancing transactions. Under the leadership of the group’s legal vice president, Lucía played a key role in establishing and growing the legal department of MRO Holdings, now leading a large team of lawyers.

She is responsible for leading the operational aspects of the team and addressing all legal aspects of the group, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing advice on contractual and corporate matters. She has participated in implementing a IntelAgree — a contract lifecycle management software, which utilises artificial intelligence to track and recognise clauses within the agreements; it has a centralised clause library and carries out different kinds of searches, allows the team to store their contract templates to create agreements and sends reminders for renewals and expirations, allowing the team to manage contracts and increase their efficiency.

Lucía began her academic career by studying a law degree, with two minors, one in international business law, and the other one in international law studies at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. Afterwards, she moved to Madrid where she obtained a dual postgraduate degree from the Instituto de Empresa, specialising in corporate and business law.

After completing her academic preparation, Lucía started her professional career at the Madrid office of the renowned English law firm, Clifford Chance, where she worked for three years, being part of the corporate and real estate departments. During her time at this firm, she was involved in significant national and international transactions related to M&A and loan portfolios. After her experience in Spain, Lucía returned to El Salvador and joined the corporate law department of Consortium Legal. During her three years at this firm, and before joining MRO Holdings, she gained in-depth knowledge of Salvadoran corporate and business law, as well as expertise in contract negotiation and M&A transactions.
