Michelle is a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
She joined Cargill’s law department in 1998 San Pedro Sula, having different roles and positions within the legal function including an assignment to Nicaragua to lead the integration process and to create a suitable legal structure after an important acquisition on the poultry business.
Since 2017 with broader responsibility in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, Michelle has been leading a team of nine lawyers and three paralegals, leading strategic M&A projects in the Latin America region with a focus on continuous improvement. She is a mentor to men and women within Cargill, as part of the commercial and operating area.
Also, from 2018 until 2022 she acted as President to the first in-house lawyer association in Central America and is now currently acting as Treasurer. Michelle is also a speaker in lawyer´s meetings and associations in Central America and Mexico.
She is married to Juan Pablo and mother to Valeria, Juan Pablo and Hannah, plus their playful dogs Minnie and Kylo, and an active leader and facilitator of marriage and parenthood courses as part of her Christian community.
