Beatriz Beltranena de Zamora

Beatriz has served as Legal Director and General Counsel for Amzak Capital Management, LLC (“Amzak”) for over 19 years. As Legal Director, she managed the legal departments, transactions, and legal affairs for Amzak’s active investments, which include Ament, Tricom, KPAQ, Trace Staffing Solutions, Marbles the Brain Store, and a real estate portfolio primarily focused on multifamily properties. Her expertise extends to venture capital in the health sector and other diverse industries.

As General Counsel, Beatriz was responsible for overseeing the corporate and legal aspects of all Amzak investments, ensuring the firm’s internal legal and compliance matters were effectively managed. She has significant experience in international corporate legal transactions, including private equity mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, loan syndications, bidding processes, real estate transactions, and bankruptcy proceedings.

Beatriz continues to represent the Kazma family and Amzak Investments as a Board Member. Prior to joining Amzak, she was a Senior Associate at Consortium Legal, a leading Central American law firm, where she headed the Corporate Law Department.

She also served as General Counsel and Country Compliance Officer for Citibank’s branch in El Salvador (1998-2005) and as a Legal Officer at Citibank’s Guatemala branch (1996-1998). As Country Compliance Officer, she adeptly applied U.S. regulations, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Anti-Bribery, and Money Laundering laws, alongside local regulations in El Salvador. Additionally, she was Citibank’s Legal Coordinator and Director for its Honduras operations for over two years.

Beatriz holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences (Cum Laude) from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala and is licensed to practise law in both Guatemala and El Salvador. She obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. Law from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law. Beatriz is fluent in both Spanish and English.

She is also a Board Member of Optima Sociedad de Ahorro y Crédito in El Salvador. Beatriz teaches International Contracts at Fepade/Iseade, a programme designed to prepare lawyers for LLM courses. Additionally, she serves on the advisory committee for family offices of various families in El Salvador and Guatemala.
