In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?

El Salvador is going through a transformation. So, every financial quarter is a challenge. The main trends are bitcoin and cryptocurrency. We are the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, so we are seeing a lot of companies establishing here to do business in the digital assets space. In terms of the economy, we are also seeing El Salvador recovering its creditworthiness. The EMBI went all the way up to 30 and now it is at five We are seeing international institutions, development agencies and companies looking at El Salvador differently. El Salvador has also taken great steps towards combatting crime and we are now a “normal-safe” country.

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

I believe in meritocracy and big promoter of true meritocracy. As a general counsel, my mission is to be an equal opportunity “employer” and hire people based solely on merits, regardless of pressure of any kind. That had helped not only to maintain a good work environment but also to have strong credibility with my people. I believe people should be given a chance if they checked all boxes and love to look for hidden talent that deserve a chance. This helps me deliver on time and with quality.
