Grupo Financiero Banrural
Following the privatisation of the country’s state-run bank in 1997, Banrural has quickly become one of Guatemala’s leading financial institutions and today has over 10,000 employees and 1000 branches. Led by legal manager César José Guerrero Flores, the legal department at Banrural is recognised for handling a range of legal issues relating to escrows, relationships with regulators; and the management of legal documentation for the Group’s companies in addition to supporting different internal units of the organisation in diverse legal subjects. Assisting Guerrero on these activities are notable members of the team that include the experienced legal director Alejandro Aldana Medrano and astute legal advisors such as Nelson Medina. In 2017, the legal department helped the bank develop and launch the “Infinite Banrural” credit card, the country’s largest independent program that gives users access to more than 850 participating airport VIP lounges in more than 400 cities and 120 countries.
