Established in 1928, the Polish flag carrier LOT Polish Airlines ranks as one of the world’s airlines still in operation. The airline’s legal department has diligently navigated the company through difficult financial conditions, including significant losses and negative equity, back to considerable profit. Overseeing the company’s large-scale restructuring process through state aid and supporting the growth of the company by means of adding a number of new additions to LOT Polish Airlines’ fleet are just some examples of the contributions made by the legal team. Other major achievements for the team centre on overseeing the establishment of new direct routes aimed at the airline the fastest growing flag-carrier in Europe, with 28 new destinations added between 2015 and 2017, the most recent being transatlantic flights between Budapest, New York and Chicago.
