Voestalpine
Voestalpine is an international steel-based technology and capital goods group based in Linz, and is active in steel, automotive, railway systems, profilform and tool steel industries. As of 2017, it is one of the few profitable steel companies in Europe. The legal team of voestalpine has recently been tasked with various matters of commercial law, antitrust and competition law and international contract law. In terms of recent projects the US has granted more than half of the exceptions to its steel import tariffs that the Austrian steelmaker and its customers applied for. The department has ensured compliance in these operations, an important achievement thanks to the announcement from Washington that tariffs of 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminium from the European Union, Canada and Mexico were to be introduced. The team includes a number of leading corporate counsel, each of whom are known for leading the function through various business transactions and market opportunities.
