Chile is an important market for global consumer goods company Unilever within its Southern Cone operations. And to fortify its business, Unilever Chile relies on the expertise of general counsel Bárbara Leighton. She handles a wide range of matters inside of the company, supporting the business from end-to-end in areas such a supply chain, marketing, regulatory affairs, HR and competition among others, whilst also being the local business integrity officer, handling compliance matters together with a colleague in her team. Having been at the company since 2015 she has an advanced understanding of Unilever’s local operations and has impressed peers in the industry with her ability and skills. Last year she handled for the Southern Cone, the sale of Unilever’s spread business and several internal restructuration processes, giving a strong support in strategic and labour planification to HR – the company has eight labour unions’.
