Andrés Bellagamba is a highly accomplished legal professional with an impressive educational background and extensive experience in corporate law, international trade, and academia. He holds a prestigious LL.M from the University of Melbourne, Australia, which he pursued from July 2019 to October 2020. Prior to this, Andrés obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago, Chile, where he graduated with magna cum laude honours, securing the 9th position in his overall class ranking. His strong academic foundation laid the groundwork for a successful career in the legal field.

Currently serving as a Senior legal counsel at Grupo Cerro, a prominent energy company owned by funds managed by EIG Global Energy Partners in Santiago, Chile. Andrés plays a pivotal role as an in-house counsel. He is entrusted with a diverse array of responsibilities, including handling day-to-day corporate matters for the company’s different legal entities, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, and overseeing project finance work. His expertise in mergers and acquisitions proves valuable in navigating high-complexity transactions related to energy generation infrastructure assets.

Andrés’s expertise extends to other notable roles throughout his career. He worked as a senior associate and later as legal counsel at Porzio, Ríos, García, where he provided crucial legal consultancy to both domestic and foreign companies on commercial and corporate matters, international trade, compliance, and estate transactions. Subsequently, he joined Carey as an associate in the corporate and public procurement team, where he excelled in offering legal guidance on international trade matters, corporate consulting, and facilitating merger and acquisition processes.

In addition to his professional achievements, Andrés has made significant contributions to academia. As an assistant professor at Universidad de Los Andes, he taught constitutional law and International public law, showcasing his commitment to shaping the legal minds of the future.

Throughout his career, Andrés has been involved in numerous high-profile projects, including representing prominent entities like Italian company Renergética during its due diligence process in connection to its public stock market opening in Italy. He has also provided continuous corporate and commercial consultancy to Albemarle, a global leader in lithium extraction.

Apart from his legal prowess, Andrés showcases his passion for sharing knowledge through his role as an author and editor in chief of the Fare Affari in Cile – 2018 Business Guide, to be published on the Italian Embassy in Chile’s website and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website.
