What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
To further consolidate our market leadership and increase our capabilities to respond to the growing challenges of our clients, In July 2023, Deloitte Chile announced the incorporation of the Ventiv Solutions International team, specifically Oracle’s Enterprise Performance Management, to its consulting area. This integration will allow us to elevate our Oracle services, having a more comprehensive vision to generate synergies in our technology solutions offering and delivering unparalleled value to our clients. With this incorporation, twelve professionals join our Oracle team and will allow us to enhance EPM’s offer with our financial transformation, analytics, and artificial intelligence services.
Secondly, to strengthen its strategic leadership in the country and support its clients in critical areas such as cybersecurity, Deloitte Chile acquired Makros, recognised for its 19 years of experience in the Chilean market. Makros has more than 100 professionals and more than 200 clients, standing out in services such as perimeter security, cloud security, identity management, among others. With this acquisition, Deloitte positioned itself at the forefront of cybersecurity consulting, with a team of 250 professionals who deliver comprehensive cybersecurity services, in Chile and abroad.
What diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives have you and your legal department been championing within your company’s endeavours?

Key actions that we have undertaken to achieve our DEI goals include, supporting the development and updating of policies and protocols. Secondly, through ERG participation in communities on Pride, Gender, Interculturality, Disability, and Indigenous Peoples, and adherence to the global All-In programme. We also have a keen focus on compliance with ethics and non-retaliation policies in cases related to workplace abuse and harassment.
If existent, can you talk about you or your company’s efforts relating to renewability, sustainability or other environmentally friendly activities?
WorldClimate is our global strategy to address climate change by driving responsible climate choices within our organisation and beyond. Its main objectives can be summarised in four key pillars of action. Firstly, we are aiming for net zero emissions with targets for 2030. Our short-term goals include, reducing Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 70% by 2030 from a 2019, reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel by 50% per FTE by 2030 from a 2019. We are also investing in meaningful market solutions for emissions we cannot eliminate, for example, we offset our operational and business travel emissions with purchases of high-quality carbon credits, allowing us to offset 100% of our measured GHG emissions. We also supply 100% renewable energy to our buildings.
Operating green is our second pillar, we recognise that we must align our climate policies, practices, and actions across our organisation. We do this by incorporating sustainability into decisions on office operations, events/meetings, real estate, and investments, and by prioritising discussions of climate action in executive agendas.
Our third pillar consists of empowering individuals, impacting the climate crisis depends not only on what our company does, but on the individual choices we make every day. We engage and educate our people about the impacts of climate change, so that they make responsible choices about what they consume, use or how they travel. We empower our employees to act on climate change at Deloitte through our Green Team.
Our final pillar is engaging ecosystems, we will collaborate with clients, alliance partners, non-governmental organisations, industry groups, suppliers, and others to address climate change at a systems and operational level.
