What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Most recently, we have participated in multiple important bilateral financial deals, with many relevant stakeholders within our industry.
How important is choosing to work with external lawyers who align with your company’s values? Are you likely to reconsider what firms you work with based on this?
For our department, it is certainly fundamental to work with external counsel that share our same corporate values, such as respect, transparency, cooperation and excellence. We believe this allows us to build long-term relationships, with both our suppliers, business partners and clients.
How do you suggest in-house lawyers build strong relationships with business partners?
I believe there are multiple aspects to consider, which are fundamental: first, the reciprocate knowledge which teams must have, both on their competencies and abilities. Second, is establishing effective communication initiatives which allow knowing, understanding and transmitting, adequately, information. Lasty, third, and the most important, is to build a space of confidence and mutual respect which allows to establish a constructive work environment, where each one contributes, from their specialty, in the completion of businesses.
