How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

First, I carry out a thorough evaluation of the risks inherent to that situation of instability or crisis, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and with the result of that evaluation I develop a crisis management plan, maintaining open communication and constant coordination with other areas of the company that may be affected or that can collaborate to overcome said situation, and if necessary, I work closely with expert legal advisors if the matter requires it.

To align the legal strategy with the broader business strategy for organisational resilience I suggest integrating the legal aspects into the overall business strategy, and align the legal and business objectives — which can often have different objectives, but there is a common objective: the growth of the company and the well-being of employees for the good of the company. It is important to proactively manage legal risks, foster cross-functional collaboration, and continually monitor and adapt legal strategies to address changing business needs and external factors. By taking these steps, the organisation can improve its resilience and effectively navigate legal challenges during periods of instability or crisis.

In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?

One of the main trends that stands out in my country currently, and in the world, is digital transformation. The digitalisation of various procedures, jobs, tasks, is impacting all sectors and industries, without distinction. This generates immediacy, optimisation of resources, faster responses and results.

Another very striking point is the increase in corporate policies and local legislation regarding privacy and data protection. Regulations are continually evolving and improving to address issues relating to personal data and its protection.

On the other hand, there is a growing interest in sustainability issues and climate change. This causes many companies to adopt sustainable practices and policies to address environmental challenges and raise awareness among their employees.

These trends are not only shaping policies and regulations in their respective fields but are also creating new opportunities and challenges for the public and private sectors around the world.
