Engie Energía Chile
Engie Energía Chile, part of GDF Suez Group, is the largest electric company in Chile’s Great North Interconnected System (SING) – its northern region, specialised in the production and transport of electric power and other fuels. It is one of the top companies on the Santiago Stock Exchange, with a market capitalisation of around US$2.8bn. Engie Energía’s Chilean legal team is led by chief legal counsel Aníbal Prieto Larrain, and covers the firm’s contract, environmental law, litigation and all other legal matters. Prieto is highlighted in this year’s research for assisting on the company’s 2018 agreement with global chemical products company Albemarle, an important contract with a term of nine years that consolidates Engie Energía’s leadership in the energy transition in Chile and the world.
