Entel is Chile’s largest telecoms company providing internet, phone and mobile coverage across the country. According to data on the IPSA stock market, Entel’s revenue in the last year was US$1.9bn, and its scale is demonstrated by its extensive geographic coverage in Chile’s challenging landscape. Entel’s legal team is led by legal manager, Cristián Maturana Miquel who, along with the legal team, has contributed significantly to the firm’s recent expansion. According to Entel, the expansion of connectivity across the often inaccessible regions of Chile is a central tenant of the company. It emphasises connectivity and access since its founding in 1960 after the country’s devastating earthquake. A modern example of Entel’s recent innovation is its offering of Google Play to its Android customers in 2018 as part of their account, the first provider in Latin America to do so. It is a credit to the legal team that in covering legal matters, Entel was enabled to unveil this service in Latin America.
