Multilateral development bank Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) aims to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. Although it is a newly-operating bank that only started its operations in 2016, it has now grown to 87 approved members worldwide by forming a sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors in Asia. Rüdiger Woggon, serves as the lead counsel in the office of the general counsel in Beijing and was given the challenge to set up the China legal team in a newly created institution. Ever since its inception, the legal department has provided legal support on a wide range of projects with the close collaboration of other colleagues across the business, aggregating a skillset which will make it fully equipped for the legal complexities brought on by the increase in investment opportunities in the region.
