Baowu Steel
China Baowu Steel Group (Baowu) came together through the restructuring of Baosteel Group and Wuhan Iron & Steel Group in 2016. The merger created one of the largest state owned steel corporations in the world, with a state owned registered capital of RMB52.79bn and an asset scale of RMB739.5bn. This dominance in the Chinese steel market is aided in part through the company’s expert legal affairs department. In the last year the team has contributed to major deals and transactions including the landmark deal with the China Polar Research Centre and the Ministry of Natural Resources to provide steel for the construction of phase II of the inland summer investigation station – the “Taishan Station” in Princess Elizabeth, Antarctica.
