China International Capital Corporation (CICC)
The first Chinese investment company to receive regulatory approval to manage private equity funds back in 2010, China International Capital Corporation (CICC) has gone from strength to strength since then. An IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2015 was followed with two blockbuster acquisitions in the following years, with China Investment Securities acquired in 2016 and a majority stake in US firm KraneShares being added in 2017. CICC’s legal team, led by Chen Gang since August 2016, has been instrumental in all these developments and is regarded as one of the leading lights of the Chinese financial in-house legal landscape. Managing director and head of legal for CICC’s Hong Kong subsidiary Zhou Jiaxing also came in for high praise from nominating sources, with his team of 17 looking to expand further in the coming months to match the exceptional growth of the business.
