FAW Group is China’s oldest and largest state owned automobile production company, and has been producing high-end passenger and commercial vehicles including coaches and limousines since 1956. The company’s development over the years has turned it into China’s number one domestic car maker with annual sales exceeding three million units. Headquartered in Changchun, China, FAW Group is looking to expand its international scope and in particular its export of luxury vehicles. Assisting with this process is the company’s expert in-house legal team led by general counsel, Zhao Yuguo. The team provides support on all legal matters relating to the delivery of the company’s vehicle production operations. In particular, the team assisted FAW Group’s completion of a strategic cooperation agreement with Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM) and Changan Automobile (Changan) – China’s three largest state owned automobile producers. The agreement signed in 2017 is designed to aid the efforts of all three companies to expand distribution internationally.
