The sprawling chemicals empire operated by Henkel is hugely complex, requiring well-developed internal processes to safeguard its highly regulated and diverse supply chain. The legal function is at the centre of these efforts, but also has a major role with corporate and antitrust matters. Its general counsel Victor Shen is highly regarded among the Chinese in-house counsel community on the back of his commitment to the field – which has resulted in his publication of a number of journal articles – in a number of areas, particularly in M&A and anti-corruption matters.
