Earlier this year, the Beijing investment group, CMC Capital Partners, acquired full ownership of NBCUniversal’s joint-venture animation studio Oriental DreamWorks, rebranding the Shanghai-based studio as “Pearl Studio”. The legal department helped with the intricacies of the sale and has been at hand for other transactions, contributing to the consolidation of the animation and entertainment market in China.
